We are the World! Happy New Year!

Praying for blessings to all of you around the world. May we all come together to find what is best in each of us. Love surely is better than hate. Working together, standing together, loving together will make the difference. If you are upset about something, find your voice. Go on Twitter, Facebook, start a Website, care and share positive ideas and progressive thinking instead of crying in a corner. We can all light the place where we stand and that light will shine enough to change things.

Be blessed with much love, joy, and happiness!

We are the world!

There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And its time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can’t go on pretending day by day
That someone, somehow will soon make a change
We are all a part of Gods great big family
And the truth, you know,
Love is all we need

We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving

What Friends Do

“A friend loves you all the time.”

Proverbs 17:17

One gets the impression that to John, Jesus was above all a loyal companion.  Messiah?  Yes.  Son of God?  Indeed.  Miracle worker?

That, too.

But more than anything Jesus was a pal.

Someone you could go camping with or bowling with or count the stars with…

Now what do you do with a friend?

(Well, that’s rather simple too.)  You stick by him.

Maybe that is why John is the only one of the twelve who was at the cross.

He came to say good-bye.

By his own admission he hadn’t quite put the pieces together yet.

But that didn’t really matter.

As far as he was concerned, his closest friend was in trouble and he came to help.

“Can you take care of my mother?”

Of course.  That’s what friends are for.

Friendship

I call you friends,

because I have made known to you

everything I heard from my Father.

John 15:15

John is the only one of the twelve who was at the cross.  He came to say good-bye.

By his own admission he hadn’t quite put the pieces together yet.

But that didn’t really matter.

As far as he was concerned,

his closest friend was in trouble and he came to help…

John teaches us that the…

greatest webs of loyalty are spun,

not with airtight theologies or foolproof philosophies,

but with friendships;

stubborn,

selfless,

joyful friendships.
